A hydrogen generator is a power generation device that uses the chemical reaction between hydrogen and oxygen to produce electricity. Here is its working principle:

1. Hydrogen enters the cylinder and mixes with oxygen to form a combustible mixture. Typically, the hydrogen-to-oxygen ratio is 2:1 (by volume). This mixture has a high calorific value under appropriate pressure.

2. The combustible mixture is introduced into the combustion chamber and ignited by a spark plug. The flame spreads rapidly, producing high-temperature, high-pressure combustion gas.

3. The combustion gas does work on a turbine, driving it to rotate. A generator is connected to the turbine's rotating shaft, converting the high-pressure kinetic energy of the combustion gas into electrical energy.

4. After cooling and purification, the combustion gas is usually either released into the atmosphere or reintroduced into the cylinder for the next cycle.

Throughout the process, almost all the chemical energy in the fuel is converted into heat energy, which is then converted into electrical energy through the turbine and generator. Therefore, the energy conversion efficiency of a hydrogen generator is relatively high. However, due to the high cost of hydrogen storage and transportation, as well as safety concerns, hydrogen power generation is currently still in the research and experimental stage.
