Environment for using hydrogen cylinders

The operating environment of hydrogen cylinders directly affects their lifespan. High temperatures (above 60°C) accelerate material aging, while low temperatures (below -40°C) may increase metal brittleness; both should be avoided for extended periods. Furthermore, the filling pressure of hydrogen cylinders must be strictly controlled within the rated range (typically 20-35 MPa). Overpressure filling can cause plastic deformation of the cylinder, and repeated overpressure can shorten its lifespan to less than 5 years.
Conversely, properly controlling the filling frequency (e.g., no more than 3 times per day) and pressure fluctuation range can extend the lifespan to the design limit.
